The Clinton LumberKings, a Single A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, play at Alliant Energy Field, formerly Riverview Stadium that was built in 1937. The stadium received a major upgrade in 2006. All new picnic area, children's play area, and player clubhouses down the 3rd baseline. The stadium is very close to the Mississippi River. You can see a gambling riverboat over the fence. Clinton was playing the West Michigan Whitecaps and won 9-4. The box score was Whitecaps R-4, H-8, E-3, and Lumberjacks R-9, H-8, E-1. The field lines are RF-325', RC-401', CF-395', LC-335', LF-330'. One mid-inning activity is two children riding small pedal John Deere tractors. Louie is the mascot. There is a very good selection of food for this level of baseball. Great Root Beer Floats with lots of ice cream. Jim was able to get a 2010 team autographed baseball for only $15. Regular player autographed baseballs were the same price. We attended the game with Andrea's cousin and her husband. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
