Everett AquaSox win the NW League Championship beating the Eugene Emeralds by winning the 4th game in a 3 of 5 games series. Final Score 6-3.
The Everett AquaSox are High A Northwest league team with a 30 year affiliation with the Seattle Mariners. The General Manager, Danny Tetzlaff, is shown carrying the Championship Flag. Standing by Danny in the next picture below is Pat Filippone, President of 7th Inning Stretch LLC that owns the AquaSox. This company also owns the Stockton Ports and the Delmarva Shorebirds.

The AquaSox play at Everett Memorial Stadium/Funko Field, which opened in 1984 and received a major upgrade in 1998, seating 3,682. It was a great night for baseball with the temperature at 74 degrees and 6 mph wind from the west. The AquaSox were playing the Eugene Emeralds for the Northwest League Championship. The AquaSox were up 2-1 in this best of five series. The final score was 6-3 with the AquaSox winning the Northwest League Championship. The last championship was in 2010, so the players and fans were very excited and happy. The box score was Emeralds R-3, H-5, E-1 and AquaSox R-6, H-10, E-1. The field lines vary starting in RF-324', RC-345', CF-330', LC- 357', 359', 352', and LF-335'. This is a nice small stadium with a large field beyond the 1st baseline seating for children to run and play catch before and during the game. The floor of the seating area is aluminum which encourages fun stamping feet after Aquasox scores or for any other positive reason. Down each baseline are general admission bleachers. Down the first baseline is a party tent. Beyond the right field fence is a grass seating area. The Aquasox bullpen is down the third baseline just visible beyond the bleachers. There is a manual only scoreboard which is unusual at today's ball parks. They post a yellow 0 until a run is made or the inning ends. The mascot is Webbly the Frog shown in the end of game celebrations. There are several between inning activities led by Steve: trying to catch pizza boxes in a fishing net; the usual ball under which hat; which wallet has the Capitol One credit card; predicting if the next player shown will have a higher or lower jersey number; and rolling large dice. The gentleman in the white t-shirt sits on the 1st base line, front row even with home plate and loudly cheers and encourages the AquaSox players and razzes the visiting players. The gentleman in the dark picture is the team bus driver whose birthday was celebrated tonight. The four player banners are located behind the 1st base bleachers and feature Mariners players who played the AquaSox. George Kirby played in 2019 (didn't walk a battter in 22 innings) and in 2021. Cal Raleigh started pro career in 2018, hitting .288 with 8 HRs. Julio Rodriguez played in 2021 batting .325! Seventeen year old Felix Hernandez started his careet in 2003 with 73 strikeouts in 55 innings. The last two rows show the players celebrating the win (note the orange water container) and being presented the NW League Championship trophy. The woman presenting the trophy is Kimberly Parker, the Regional Supervisor for Major League Baseball. Attendance was 1,602. There are plans to build a new stadium closer to the downtown area to be completed for the 2027 season.
