The Greensboro Grasshoppers, a Single A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, play at NewBridge Bank Park, which was built in 2005, seating 7,499. The Grasshoppers were playing the Kannapolis Intimidators and won 8-3 in a rain shortened game that was called before the start of the bottom of the 7th inning. The box score was Intimidators R-3, H-3, E-2 and Grasshoppers R-8, H-13, E-0. The field lines are RF-327', CF-400' and LF 315'. This is a really nice newer ballpark with brick exterior. Outside the right field entrance is a statue of the mascot Guilford and two black labs Miss Babe Ruth and Master Yogi Berra. In the long outside concourse along the first base line is a relief sculpture of a pitcher and batter. The stadium has 5300 chairback seats and 16 suites and a party deck at the 3rd base end of the 2nd level. Fire Department capacity is 11, 100. There is a berm in left field and down the 1st baseline. The Kid Zone is at the end of the 1st baseline on the concourse level. The stadium was built for possible expansion to the double A level. The two black labs are owned by the GM. Miss Babe Ruth picks up the bats during one of the home innings. She gets real excited when she hears the crack of the bat. She sits behind the green protector while waiting. At another time she carries a bucket of baseballs out to the umpire, who gives her some treats. Master Yogi Berra as a between inning activity chases down a baseball that has been fired into the outfield. SPAZ is the between inning announcer on the field, who is Spaz 24-7. One between inning activity, the Fisher Grill Hamburger Stack, has a couple dressed in hamburger buns. One lays on the ground and the other races back and forth putting the hamburger and making on the one on the ground. At the end that one jumps on top. Another between inning activity is the Neese's Country Sausage sausage package race from 1st around the bases to home. The last three pictures show first the grounds crew starting to put out the tarp, which was down before the 1st storm hit. Then the rains came down. After the second storm the field was not playable and the umpire called the game. Affiliated with Pittsburgh in 2019. 2021--Affiliated with Pittsburgh.
