The Hudson Valley Renegades, a Short A affiliate of Tampa Bay, play in Dutchess Stadium in Dutchess County New York, seating 4,494. This stadium was built in 1993 and is a great place to watch a baseball game. In the outfield background you have a nice view of green trees. The field is just north of I-84 and had good access and lots of parking. One thing we appreciated on leaving the park is that the security and police let each lot take a turn. The Renegades were playing the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and were shut out 7-0. The box score was Scrappers R-7, H-11, E-1 and Renegades R-0, H-4, E-2. The field lines are RF & LF-325' and CF-400'. The team nickname is the 'Gades. All games start at 11 minutes past the hour as one of the team sponsors is 7-11 which conveniently makes all evening games start at 7:11pm. The pitch speed indicator is just to the right of center field which makes it very easy to see. There is some type of promotion at every home game. Some of between inning activities are a three-way race to diaper a baby doll. Three guys try to drive 5 nails into a board the fastest (picture). Four guys do a bounce ball musical chairs. Andrea received a bouquet of flowers from the flower boy (picture). One of the staff members signs "Take Me Out to the Ballgame". One of the staff named Spaz was dressed as a Cave Man and later as a Cow with udders. He has a couple of other costumes and his job is to get the crowd fired up. There are three mascots--Rookie is the male raccoon and has been with the team for 10 years, his wife is Rene, and their child is Rascal. Concession prices are very competitive at the Single A team level. New logo. New Logo in 2013, 2021--Affiliated with New York Yankees. High A playing in the East League, North Division.
