The Everett Aquasox, a Single A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners play at Everett Memorial Stadium, which opened in 1984 and received a major upgrade in 2001. The Aquasox were playing the Eugene Emeralds and were unsuccessful losing 10-2. The box score was Emeralds R-10, H-14, E-0 and Aquasox R-2, H-6, E-1. The field lines are RF-325', CF-395', LC-380, and LF-335'. Latos, Emerald's starter, was throwing 94-97 mph. This is a nice stadium with a large field beyond the 1st baseline seating for children to run and play catch before and during the game. The floor of the seating area is aluminum which encourages fun stamping feet after Aquasox scores. There is a manual only scoreboard which is unusual at today's ball parks. They post a yellow 0 until a run is made or the inning ends. There is a speed pitch indicator in left field. The main mascot is Webley the Frog. The second is Frank the Hot Dog. Beyond the right field fence is a grass seating area. There are several between inning activities: throwing 6 large dice, child throwing fish into net held by parent, hitting a baseball of a T for distance, and riding large tricycles from 1st to 3rd. Attendance was 2,498. After the game the kids ran the bases from 1st to 3rd. As the game moved into the evening the fans where brightened by a almost full moon rising over the Cascades.
