The Biloxi Shuckers, the Double A Southern League affiliate of the Milwaukie Brewers, play at MGM Park, which was built in 2015 and has 5,000 fixed seats and 800 to 1,000 berm seating. The stadium is one block from the beach. The Shuckers were playing the Pensacola Blue Yahoos and won 6-0. The box score was Blue Yahoos R-0, H-2, E-1 and Shuckers R-6, H-7, E-0. This game completed a 5-game sweep of the Blue Yahoos by the Shuckers. Staff ran down the 1st base line waving brooms after the game. The file lines are RF-325', RC-350', CF-400', LC-350' and LF-325'. There is a nice video board with lots of information. Schooner the Seagull is the mascot. The game started at 10:35am with the temperature in the mid-80s and no shade except under the suite overhang. I think the game was to attract youth groups, but I only saw two groups who spent the game in the outfield play area under the sprinklers. They had a between inning race with Spud, Colonel Cob, and Crawfish. I was told that Spud never wins. Another, very appropriate today, mid-inning contest to see who could put on a folded and frozen t-shirt first. Two youngsters had a balloon toss competition to see who could throw and break the balloons in the helmet basket. The adults were involved throwing buckets of water on each other. There was a local nature group present who had a large tortoise and large snake. Because the Shuckers swept the Blue Yahoos, the Shuckers staff ran down the 1st base line waving brooms. This location is still putting mud on the baseballs. Parking is $5 off of the stadium. There was a nice free program.
