The Jackson Generals, the Double A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, play at Pringles Park, which was built in 1998 and seats 6,000. The Generals changed their name from the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx in 2011. The Generals were playing the Montgomery Biscuits with the Generals winning 5-1. The box score was Biscuits R-2, H-6, E-0 and Generals R-5, H-6, E-0. The field lines are RF-320', CF390', LF-350'. There was a nice board that showed the up and coming minor league Mariners and the score for the Mariners last game. We didn't see a mascot. A between inning activity had three girls bouncing on blow-up horses. There was a girl's softball tournament starting the next day on adjacent field and many of the teams were at the game. Sitting in front of us were two University of Tennessee Women's Softball pitchers Ivy and Ellen Renfroe. The Renfroe sisters were signing a lot of autographs. During the game the Generals were celebrating Christmas in July with music and lots of decorations around the park. Instead of shouting Charge the fans shouted Sarge. Affiliated with Arizona in 2017. 2021--No team at this location. |
