The Ottawa Lynx, a Triple A affiliate of Baltimore, play at Lynx Stadium which was built in 1993. The lower level consists of 23 rows with 18 rows on the upper level above the aisle. The Lynx were playing the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Red Barons. Early in the top of the 5th inning a light drizzle started. Suddenly the skies opened and the game went into a rain delay of about 45 minutes. At that point the game was suspended until the next day at 12 noon when it was resumed to be completed as a nine inning game. The score at that point was 0-0 with two outs and a runner on first base for the Red Barons. Each team had two hits. Because we needed to travel to Syracuse we were not able to see the end of the game. The field lines are RF & LF-325' and CF-404'. Before the game Roy Berger tried to set a Guinness Book record for push-ups in one minute and five minutes. He tied the record for one minute at 124, but did not come close to the 5 minute record. There is a picnic area down the 3rd baseline. On the upper level is located the Upper Deck Sports Bar and Restaurant with a regular menu, but focused on baseball type items. Skratch is the mascot. 2007 affiliated with Philadelphia Phillies. 2008 moved to Allentown, PA and changed name to Lehigh Valley IronPigs. |
