The Omaha Storm Chasers, a Triple A affiliate of Kansas City Royals, play at Werner Park, located in near-by Papillion, NE. The park opened in April 2011. It seats 9,023 with 6,434 permanent seats, 15 suites and grass berm seating in RF and LF and bleachers in LF. There is the Dugout Suite at field level down the third baseline. Club seating in Sections 112-114 give you access to the Cresa Club at concourse level on the 1st base line. The Storm Chasers were playing the New Orleans Babycakes winning 15-11. The box score was Babycakes R-11, H-14, E-0 and Storm Chasers R-15, H-19, E-2. The field lines are RF-315', CF-402', and LF-310'. The Storm Chasers won with a Walk-Off Grand Slam in the bottom of the 10th. The bullpens are in center field with the Chasers located on top of the visiting team. There is a large Family Fun Zone at the end of the 3rd base concourse. There are group areas on each side of the broadcast booth. The mascot is Casey. One between inning activity has two women picking up items with extra large boxing gloves. Another has two children attached together trying to pick up imitation steaks and stack them on their individual grills. There is a kid's race with the participants dress in Sun, Thunder, Cloud, and Lightning costumes. There was an airplane flying above pulling advertising for a local fun plex. The wind was blowing all of the game from 1st baseline to left field. There were more homeruns to left than right. The temperature was 89 degrees affecting the attending 3,699 fans. Henry Doorly Zoo is the home to such rare and endangered species a white tigers, snow leopards, lowland gorillas, African elephants, white rhinos and sun bears. Exhibits include rain forest habitats from Asia, Africa and South America and one of the world's largest indoor deserts. Gorillas roam freely in a 2-acre outdoor valley, and nocturnal animals are at home in such natural settings as caves and swamps. Fee. |
