Today was Beef O'Brady's Day at the Cleveland Indians Spring Training Ball Park at Winter Haven Fl. Beef O'Brady's is a local sports bar. They threw many Beef O'Brady's t-shirts out to the fans during the game. Winter Haven is known as The Chain of Lakes City because of the many large and small lakes in the immediate area. The Chain of Lakes Stadium was built in 1966 and renovated in 1993. The field lines are LF & RF 340', RC & LC-380" and CF-420'. Today Cleveland were playing the Houston Astros. Houston defeated Cleveland 7-6 after leading for the whole game. The box score was Houston R-7, H-9, E-1 and Cleveland R-6, H-14, E-1. The weather was a comfortable 80 degrees with a light westernly breeze. There were 4,322 fans in attendance, mostly Cleveland fans. We sat at the very end of the covered stadium on the first base side.

Cypress Gardens--was the state's first theme park.  More than 8,000 varieties of plants and flowers from 90 countries around the world are showcased.  Wings of Wonder is a glass-enclosed, Victorian-style conservatory containing more than 1,000 free-flying buterflies.  Gator gulch is an alligator habitat.  Among the park's are a fast-action water ski show, Moscow on Ice, and Do You Know Your Animals? $34.95, ages 6-17-$19.95.
