We saw the game at Peoria Sports Complex which is shared by the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres opened in 1994. The Arizona Fall Leage Mariners and Padres play here in the fall. The Mariners complex can be seen from the back of the bleachers in Row 2 Picture 4. We attended the game with Andrea's brother Gary and his wife Ruth and 10 Seattle and Arizona friends to celebrate Andrea's 80th birthday. The Seattle Mariners were playing the San Diego Padres winning 8 to 3. The box scores was Seattle R-8, H-10, E-1 and San Diego R-5, H-7, E-1. The field lines are RF & LF-340 and CF-410. The Attendance wa s7,572 on a sunny 78 degree day. It can seat 11,333. The wind was blowing from the SE as shown by the 15 team flags on the top of the CF batter's eye. There are 15 teams playing in the Cactus League located in the greater Phoenix area. Parking is free. The Budwiser Clydesdales were at the park before the game. My friend Merrilee, see below, was able to get the Happy birthday Andrea on the big screen.
My friend Merrilee goes to Spring Training every year and volunteers with the Mariners organization. This year she was at the entrance to the Mariners practice fields answering questions and giving directions. I sent her around 400 of my duplicate Mariners baseball cards. She put them on the counter of the Concession stand for the fans to enjoy and share.
