The Napa Silverados, a member of the Pacific Association of Baseball Clubs, an independent level team play at Miner Family Field. This field is the baseball field for Napa Valley College during the rest of the year. The outfield is rimmed with trees. The team was founded in 2017. The Silverados were playing the San Rafael Pacifics and lost 5-4. The box score was Pacifics R-5, H-7, E-1, and Silverados R-4, H-7, E-1. There are no field lines posted. The temperature was 79 degrees, sunny, and breezy. Attendance was 103. Seating is bleachers without backs or if you are a season ticket holder regular chairs down the third base line. There are shaded bleachers on the third baseline, unshaded behind home and on the first baseline. The season ticket area is shaded. The Oakland A's field maintenance team came in before the season and helped improve the field drainage and re-sodded the field. The infield looks outstanding. Food is provided by local food trucks. The picture before the scoreboard pictures shows the talkative Pacifics 1st base coach talking with the umpire about someting. The USS San Francisco is the field maintenance vehicle. It is built of sheet metal on a golf cart. At some point it will have an air compressor attached to the cannon to shot t-shirt into the crowd. The Pacifics 1st base coach was constantly talking to the Pacifics players batting or on base. The Pacifics starting pitcher pitched 118 pitches through 8 innings with a 1.86 ERA. We would like to thank the Silverados for giving each of us a Silverados cap, on field and radio recognition. We were asked lots of questions by the local fans.
