As we were driving into the parking lot a thunderstorm came through the area. We sat through that one in hopes that it would not stop the game. Before we could go and get our tickets a second thunderstorm hit. The water was flowing through the gravel parking lot several inches deep. Finally the storm stopped, but a dizzle continued. When the Bluefield Orioles team came out of the stadium and got on their team bus we knew that the game was rained out. We had stopped by the field before going to have dinner and Jim took some photos. While the drizzle continued he went in and took pictures of the field. The announcing booth is to the side of homeplate. It appears that some fans like to sit on the top row of the bleachers where they leave their lawn chairs wrapped up in garbage bags and bungee corded to the fence to protect them for the next game. The statue depicts one of the Over-mountain Men at the museum.
