The Helena Brewers, a Pioneer Rookie League affiliate of Milwaukee, play at Kindrick Field, which was built in 1939 and seats 2,100. It had some renovations in the early 70's. It has a metal face with wood risers and wood roof, orange seats in the reserved section. The Brewers were playing the Ogden Raptors and won 6-3. The box score was Raptors R-3, H-5, E-3 and Brewers R-6, H-6, E-0. The field lines are RF-325', CF-400', LF-325'. The attendance on this warm 90+ evening was 1,162. The announcing booth, like several in this league, is built into the roof. Here they have screening to protect the personnel from foul balls. They have a great before-game promotion of recognizing outstanding elementary school student citizens from the local elementary schools. Tonight they recognized K-5 students from two schools, who each then threw a first pitch to a Brewers player. The mascots are Lewis-lion and Clark-cougar. The stadium roof is held up by posts and on each post is the sign shown that allows you to request of different seat if your view is blocked by the post. I don't think this would work at Fenway or Wrigley. As before, the GM at the lower levels works at many jobs. This is the first time we have seen a GM, Paul Fetz, do the mid-game grounds crew raking of the field. There is some type of daily special every night of the week. For example, Micro Monday-$2 micro-brews, Weenie Wednesdays--$1 hot dogs, and 2 for 1 Fridays--2 for 1 general admission tickets if you bring your Bresnan cable bill. Tonight we found out the Pioneer League is considered advanced rookie, so players can move up from the Appalachian League to the Pioneer League. 2011 new logo. 2019 Brewers move to Colorado Springs and become the Rocky Mountain Vibes. |
