The Everett Aquasox now play in the High A Northwest League consisting of six teams. They continue to be affiliated with the Seattle Mariners. They play at Everett Memorial Stadium, which opened in 1984 and received a major upgrade in 2001, seating 3,682. The field is sponsored by FUNKO, a maker of small mascots. That is a giant sized one on the grass in right field. We joined the Silver Sluggers group and received tickets for 7 Wednesday night games. The cost per person was only $20. Wednesday has Baseball Bingo as an attraction. We don't play as it takes too much concentration and this takes away from watching the game. The game announcer calls the numbers, but sometimes he gets behind. The Aquasox were playing the Tri-City Dust Devils losing to them 15-8. The Dust Devils scored nine runs in the firth and six innings putting the Aquasox away. The box score was Dust Devils R-15, H-18, E-1 and Aquasox R-6, H-9, E-3. The field lines are RF-325', CF-395', LF-335'. Nice video board in left field. The main scoreboard is manually operated from behind. The floor of the stands is aluminum, which get noisy when the fans start stomping. The speed pitch sign is appropriately sponsored by Speedway car dealership. The mascot is Webley the Frog. It can get very cold at the games, so we left early. Jim would like to give a big thank-you Micah Lazarus, Community Relations, for giving him a games used baseball. Previously Jim has gotten a game used baseball for each league we have visited. With the reorganization of the Minor League Baseball system, one MiLB baseball is used by all minor leagues. One of the in between inning activities is see which team, one on 1st base side and one on 3rd base side, can catch 8 empty pizzza boxes in a fish net. The last scoreboard show the score when we left. During the season Jim and Andrea have attended two days games at the Mariners and Jim has then gone on to a night game at Everett. the last two pictures show some State Police activity on I-5 which is close to the field.
